How many hp more can the AT trans handle?

Thinking about supercharging my 86, but afraid my AT trans can't handle it. Any idea how many horses more can the AT handle before it start to slip or damage? Heard that the supercharger will only add 50-80 hp ...

They have put 250 HP through the auto just fine, the number you ard looking for is torque, transmissions break at certain tourque numbers, I would imagine 250-280 tq would be the limit, I wonder if anyone has looked into swapping the ISF tq converter to handle more power and see if its compatable by any means, we do use similar solenoids for hydraulic exicutions in shifting gears and locking the tq converter up, there will be after market options soon enough :)
