Power steering not working with a C1528 code

As the title states, my power steering quit working and is showing a current code of C1528 which is motor rotation angle sensor. This issue was mostly intermittent but has recently been happening a lot. I tried unplugging the harnesses going to the power steering ECU with no luck, and looking at live data, the rotation angle is all over the place and is showing little to no amps to the motor. The vehicle had an alignment issue with the power steering working when I bought it but then stopped. I replaced the struts, control arms, and steering rack to fix the alignment issue thinking that the power steering issue was related but it was not. Has anybody experienced this issue or has any insight as to what to do? Thanks!

My first recommendation would be to have the Steering Ange Sensor recalibrated; this should be done anytime an alignment is performed so any good alignment shop (or the dealer) should be able to do it. If that doesn't correct the issue, follow the service manual steps below;

DTC C1528 MOTOR ROTATION ANGLE SENSOR
DESCRIPTION OF FUNCTIONS
As part of the fail-safe function, power assist is suspended when a motor rotation angle sensor malfunction diagnosis code is being output.
DTC No: C1528
Detected item: Motor rotation angle sensor malfunction
Inspection parts:
• Motor rotation angle sensor (integrated into the steering column ASSY)
• Power steering computer ASSY

CIRCUIT FIGURE (See Picture #1)

INSPECTION STEPS
CAUTION:
Always perform a steering zero-point calibration after replacing the steering column ASSY or power steering computer ASSY.
1. Check the connector connection
(See Picture #2)

(1) Check the connection state of motor rotation angle sensor connector z2.
Criteria : The motor rotation angle sensor connector is properly connected to the power steering computer ASSY.

Is Connector connected (Power steering computer ASSY)
IF NG >Connect it securely

IF OK▼

2. Read the SSM3 data (motor rotation angle)

(1) Use the SSM3 to check the [Motor Rotation Angle]. (Refer to )
SSM3 screen: [Power Steering] → [Current Data Display & Save]
(See Picture #3)
Criteria : During engine start and steering operation, this varies between 0 - 360 deg.
IF NG
> Go to Step 3.

IF OK▼
Replace the power steering computer ASSY

3. Inspect the steering column ASSY (motor rotation angle sensor)
(See Picture #4)

(1) Disconnect the motor rotation angle sensor connector z2 from the power steering computer ASSY.
(2) Measure the resistance of the vehicle side connector.
Resistance
Inspection terminals Inspection conditions Standard value
z2-5(RZV) - z2-7(RZG) Always (23°C) 27.6 - 41.4Ω
z2-14(RZSN) - z2-7(RZG) Always (23°C) 75.2 - 112.8Ω
z2-13(RZCS) - z2-7(RZG) Always (23°C) 73.6 - 110.4Ω

IF NG
>Replace the steering column ASSY

IF OK▼
Replace the power steering computer ASSY
