College Grad Discount

I didn't hear of this until now. I bought my car about a month ago.
Think it is too late to go back and ask for it?

Give your dealership a call, they'll probably give a rebate with the proof of the certificate.

i believe u get a rebate form that u send to TMCC

Did you finance through Toyota? I believe the Grad discount requires you to have gone through their financing:

Quote:

When you finance or lease through a Scion dealer and Toyota Financial Services (TFS), you'll receive the $1000 rebate. Through the College Graduate Finance Program, there's no money down and no monthly payments for the first 90 days on select TFS finance programs with competitive APRs on new Scions. And through your participating dealer, if you qualify for the college graduate rebate, you will automatically get APRs that are available for well qualified customers.
I think the best interest rate available through TFS is 3.24% for 60 mo. My credit union offers 0.99% for 60 mo. or 0.49% for 48 mo. It doesn't make much sense to go through TFS for the rebate if you got a good enough rate elsewhere.

FYI, I'm getting the grad discount ($1,000 off purchase price only) and financing through a bank.

I ran into tthe same issue as well..bought the car about a month ago. I emailed a few dealer reps to see if it can get applied after purchase

TFS does offer better than 3.25 and you can always just refi immediately with your bank of choice.

I have 2.64% through TFS and also got the grad discount. This was applied in the final paperwork with all the other charges and fees. The dealer wasn't 100% sure exactly what Toyota needed for support documents so I just gave them a few different things; transcripts, copy of the diploma, etc. Now my understanding was you had to finance through Toyota for the grad discount.

I'm very curious about this. I bought my FR-S on Friday and this is the first I've heard of a rebate. I will be calling tomorrow.

EDIT : I see on there website you need proof you are graduating in 6 months or a diploma showing you graduated within two years. It covers 4-year and 2-year "qualified" schools (I wonder what exactly qualifies). But it also stats you need proof of having a job lined up...That's where they get you, haha.

They've had this program for a while. You also get a $1000 rebate if you're Active military

Interesting. I wonder if this is a difference between the program in the US vs the program in Canada. Mmm, doesn't look like it:

Odd, the salesman I've been talking too said that 3.25 was the best interest rate offered by TFS. Financing through TFS and then re-financing through a bank or credit union to get a better rate is an interesting idea.

I called the dealership this morning, they weren't sure if they'll be able to do it. Took all my school info and said they'd let me know.

Said the same to me, but I ended up with 2.25 or something around there when the paperwork actually came.
