Low voltage

I haven’t seen this before. Anyone notice running voltage drop like this on the gauge?

Smart charging system for efficiency. Normal.

I know nothing of such a thing.

What’s going on? The alternator doesn’t generate a static voltage?

I noticed this too. It charges when decelerating and it stops charging on acceleration. ItS a hYbRid!

dang new-age cars. i learned of it back in the early 2000's when a buddy had a civic that did it. spent most of a weekend trying to troubleshoot why it was only 12v part of the time, and 14.4v other times...

due to new emissions standards, many oem's make the alternator switch on/off depending on load, as it does decrease mpg enough to make a difference.

Soooo many threads on the subject:sign0012::search:

It's an integral part of the flux containment system.

Wow, with all of the dummy gauges I’ve had on my cars I have never noticed. It’s actually cool that this car reports the real values.

Thanks for the mini explanation. I’ll read up.

I did search. If members and mods knew how to create threads I would have found one.

Thanks man.

yea, get over 88mph with the alternator engaged, and you'll see some serious sh!t!

Keep it up and you’ll have your “Internet Forum Search Police” Cub Scout badge before you know it.
