A few of you may have seen our previous Air Oil Separator development post. Some of you reached out to us, but I need two more!

We've been testing this AOS on our 2022 BRZ shop mule, but before going into production, we always like to send beta units out to a handful of enthusiasts for feedback. There is no cost to you, but free isn't free. In return we're looking for your feedback: impressions when you took it out of the box, installation, and of course performance. Once we've reviewed your feedback, and made changes, if necessary, we'd like you to share your experience with the FT86 community.

Those looking to be involved as a beta tester need to be detail oriented and have a history of community involvement (here or in other forums). If you think you fit the bill, shoot us a PM, and we'll go from there.

This particular component is a Dual Air Oil Separator. We've used this similar design on other platforms with success, so we are not going into this on a blank slate. If anyone has any questions, this is the place to ask :)

Interesting. I'm not familiar with the FA's PCV system as I don't have a twin (yet), but it looks like you have a separator for the dirty side and a filter(?) for the fresh air? Or are they both separators?

They are both separators. It looks like they both use centrifugal force to keep the oil on the outside of the body so it runs to the bottom while the engine vacuum pulls from the top center away from the oil.

I'm up. PM sent.

^ this! There is more internal geometry to cause material to drop out of suspension over various load/RPMs, but yes, it's a vortex ;)

Here's one in action on another platform we support, Porsche 911...

This looks awesome, like an OEM+ setup. I'm interested. PM'd!

It sounds like the Dyson of oil cleaning. How much weight does a unit add?

Any idea on the pressure drop and the effect on the crankcase vacuum?

Both units are a hair under 1/2 pound together, and they weight about the same. So if you were to run a single unit, figure ~1/4 pound or ~4 ounces.

What problem do these parts solve?

Reduce oil vapors in intake. Causes issues in the long run.

I can't imagine that there's any noticeable change in vacuum. Have there been AOS kits that show this?
