Couple updates!
Interior CF bits: https://i.imgur.com/KsM8Q0R.jpg Ordered Reman'd STi brembos F+R (2014 STi). https://i.imgur.com/OsKutqK.jpg Waiting for the rear to come in. Also picked up some DBA 4000 F+R slotted rotors, StopTech SS brake lines, and getting hooked up with some DBA SP500 pads for now (hopefully some project mu CR's in the future, but I've been enjoying a brake squeal-less life). Hoping to get it installed next week, will post part #'s if everything goes smoothly. |
Bought some high temp brembo decals off amazon. The smaller sized ones didn't fit well with the rear calipers, so I ended up just using one of the included logo stickers.

DBA T3 are the business, nice build so far!

Looks like 14 STi Calipers Front and Rear were a direct fit! My buddy handled the install as I sat around watching youtube on my phone until the blakes needed to be bled.
Again, list of parts used: 14 STi Brembos from RockAuto (F+R) DBA 4000 T3 Front Rotors (1st gen w/ PP Brembo Sizing) DBA 4000 T2 Rear Rotors (1st gen w/ PP Brembo Sizing) StopTech Stainless Steel Brake Lines (F + R for 1st gen) DBA SP500 Pads Only thing I needed to replace were the caliper bolts - had to make a quick run to O'Reilly's at 10PM to pick them up. Link to the bolts. You'll also want to relocate the bleeder valve on the front calipers. Fronts: https://i.imgur.com/WTHTATy.jpg Rears: https://i.imgur.com/cOLslJT.jpg Installed: https://i.imgur.com/l82pvkn.jpg https://i.imgur.com/4gerUON.jpg Will have to report in later on how I feel about the changes. This apparently messes up the brake bias by 4% towards the front. |

The fitment looks excellent with the Volks. How's your wheel clearance on the outside and inside with that width and offset? Did they fit with stock suspension or were the coils too wide on the stock springs? Do you have any shots parallel to the sidewall so we can see the tuck/poke?

They barely fit on the inside with the stock rear struts https://i.imgur.com/bjhYvGP.jpg Don't have many good pictures, but here's some photos when it was still on stock suspension. A bit of poke without any drop/camber. https://i.imgur.com/6y9oS8q.jpg https://i.imgur.com/Z49uzYc.jpg https://i.imgur.com/jIgTzIL.jpg |

Update on the STi brembos - Everything's felt great with the upgraded pads/rotors/calipers. Haven't noticed much of a difference in the brake bias, but definitely a huge improvement in initial bite and overall stopping power. Dealing with some random squeeling at low speed braking. Also, the amount of brake dust with the new combo is making the white wheels look hideous . https://i.imgur.com/B9aQBiK.jpg Buddy of mine was getting rid of his seats and I was able to get a RS-GK for the passenger side! The bank account hurts, but interior symmetry inc . Now, time to see if the nagisa passenger side rails or evasive rails are in stock. |
Passenger seat installed + Christmas light dash activated!
https://i.imgur.com/TQtr9U7.jpg https://i.imgur.com/hNj7cR4.jpg Going to pick up a resistor and get it installed later. I'm thinking that due to the passenger seat sensor, I might run into some issues. Hoping to avoid having to lift open the seat cover and peel off the sensor/membrane. |
Quick update w/ the Passenger Side SRS/Airbag Light after seat install.
The same 3.3 ohm 1 watt resistors I used for the driver's side did not get rid of the lights. The passenger seat is still causing my dash to light up with warning messages. Not looking forward to tearing apart the stock passenger seat to get the seat sensor + heating pad if this requires the same fix from the first gen. If anyone has any suggestions, TIA. |

Your seats look great by the way |

Sadly, the way the SRS error is displayed on the LCD that is shared with vehicle information (temps, mpg, manageable screen) means the black tape fix won't work. Maybe this is an excuse to get a MoTec in the future! |

Got an appointment to get the car coated with Gyeon (Infinite base type 2 + Infinite top coat) from a local detailer next week. Hopefully the car will only require a 1 step correction, but we'll see how that goes. Had Ceramic Pro (silver) on my previous black 86 and the minor protection it provided coupled with the ease of maintenance made it well worth it. Will also be product testing (getting free partsssssssss) some FLCA this week :happyanim: |
