Dealer Software Customization

On the new Everyday Driver video they bring their GR86 back to the dealer to have the sound activator turned off, rather than unplugging it. While doing that you can see on the tech's computer there's a long list of things they can change.

-We know about the sound activator and the seatbelt chime.

-In the comments someone says they think they see an option that prevents the A/C from coming on unless you press "A/C". I'd love this so I can move the air from the face vents to the dash vents with no other changes.

-Anything else that it's worth asking to have changed when you pick up the car?

Unlock both doors when the driver door is unlocked.

Disable automatic locking when walking away with the fob.

Disable headlights coming on when car is unlocked or door opened.

That's just me...

Wouldn't it be necessary for this to first be something that happens before it's useful to disable it?

The car doesn't seem to have automatic locks as far as I can tell.

Maybe it's disabled on your car?

Why asking, you can do all this change yourself at home with a laptop and 50$ cad , it's easy to do

Why spend the 50$ when the dealer can do it when you pick up the car?

May i ask how? My car is being imported direct from Japan with no dealer support. So i am on my own. Would be nice if i can do these settings myself.

OB2 cable, and a pirated copy of techstream.

OR

A lot of apps do it as well with a bluetooth obd2 elm327 dongle. For the longest time I had carista when it was in it's infancy and it let you do ALOT of changes normally done at the dealer with techstream. I think it's a subscription based platform now, but you only need it once to set your settings.

I had Carly for my BMW and wouldn't mind finding something similar for the 86.

i'm guessing attempting to open door from inside automatically unlocking that door isn't controlled by the cpu is it?
