Wrecked!
3 Attachment(s)
So I wrecked my FRS. Gieco totaled it. Looks like an easy fix except the bolt that holds the front of the control arm is bent. I'm wondering if any one has any insight into weather that is a replaceable part or could be bent back into position. See attached photos please. Thanks.

One way to find out is to bend it back. If it breaks you got a bigger project on your hands. If it works than you just have to restore your title.

that stud is not bent, the structure is. You'll need to ease the structure back into place and reinforce the area. Alternatively, cut all the spot welds and replace the damaged structure. Either way you'll want to use some frame measuring tools to ensure the suspension points are properly located so it drives correctly.
You'll also want to thoroughly check the arm, strut, and strut tower for bending, since something else probably had to give or buckle for that point to move. The rubber bushing would have taken some of the deflection, but the question is did it take it all? Your safe bet is take it to a shop and let them repair it properly. |
Thanks
