Shark Fin Delete?

Anyone seen a blanking plate or something else to get rid of the radio antenna shark fin? I'm realizing I don't like the look of it.

How will you get reception?

There were never official delete kits for first gen so I doubt one will be made for new twins. I've seen 2 fin delete threads, both used homemade plate to block off the resulting hole.

I almost never listen to radio. Because a block off plate would still be noticable, a low profile antenna that maybe gets less reception would be nice.

Do we know what's actually in the sharkfin?

Radio, Sirius/XM, GPS?

All of the above?

Ah how the people forget the horror of the rubber antenna we originally got! :D

It would've been nice if it was integrated into the back glass. My wife's Yaris had that and it worked great.

i believe it's the 2 radio antenna's. there's 2 plugs at least.

For the first gen, there is this Delete Cover, which is the only one I find remotely acceptable...do we know if the hole in the 2nd gen's roof is identical/compatible?

That sounds logical... I found some Toyota parts diagrams (ambiguous, at best) that show the GPS antenna mounted directly above the headunit.

I'm think the antenna is just for the radio really but I'm not 100% sure.

But you can just do a carbon fiber roof swap (typically they don't have an antenna hole) and then just put the antenna underneath it between it and the headliner.

Delete? I want a bigger one!

I'm thinking at least 18" tall, and a big set of serrated teeth for the grill.

Halloween is coming up, after all.

Maybe you can reprogram the sound generator.

And then add in the screeching Dodge EV noise.
