Honestly, I've stayed away from the rally races in GT7. I liked rally in prior GTs, but something about 7 I don't like.

Tried one more time to see if I can hit 14’s in the stock GR86… after over +100 miles, closest I got was 15’s.

Still an improvement, a big one too. Good job. Where did you pick up the most time at?

I’ll be honest, not sure “where” I picked up the time. I was mainly looking at the time. Im assuming corner before the long straight & last S corners.

I knew I left some time out there and a 1hr meeting was cancelled so I went for it. Senna gap quote, competition etc. TM is hallowed grounds!

I got it on the 3rd lap even boogering up T3. 13.830 is for 2nd gen, 2:00.825 is unlimited.

So I knew I had some time left to trim based on yesterday's "optimal time" given. Since I can only play Stray once a day due to getting nauseated, and since I do like Trial Mountain, I did another 3 laps. Lol

Lol. I didn't get any other "optimal time," so I'm guessing that's the best that I can do in case one of you goes for another round.

I know there was a good amount of time left in my lap, multiple errors. Anyhow I won't be able to get any more wheel time... I'm scrambling like crazy now to wrap things up so I can hit the road to one of the few things I look forward to in a year

This’ll be my only go so have at it. Could definitely get way into the 35’s but I just couldn’t put solid laps together. Too unfamiliar with it I guess?

I know I'm super unfamiliar with this layout since the Sardegna that I remember ever racing on is the large/long layout. Pretty sure I won't be able to beat your time.

Sardegna B feels more like a real track that could exist than A, and I really like A. B is a perfect all-around track, especially for road cars. Short and sweet, very fun. Most of the turns feel good but there's still plenty of opportunity to do things wrong.

Originally was 5 laps, but oncr again, game records only the ghost, but not the time. Was 1:20.xxx, and took a bunch of laps to get another full lap in without spinning out.

To keep with the theme of a mountainous scenic short course, how about having Alsace test course as the next round?

Yeah, I think the only time I raced on that track was in the mission with the Fiat 500 or what ever that car was that struggled to get up that hill.

lol, for real this time, like I said, the only other time I've been on this track was for that mission, and I'm pretty sure it was the reverse layout then (not that it mattered since that Fiat was painfully slow). So really just these laps.

I`m getting 56.0.. in the stockG1 brz in custom races. Maybe I should have a go.

I was going to mention this but forgot all about it. TL;DR is if you go out and do 10 hard laps, probably the second or third lap (depending on the track/car/tires) will be with optimum tires. After 5 or 6 laps, times will grow all else being equal.

A week or two ago people discovered a way to access game data like tire temps. I watched a video where tire temps were displayed and was surprised to see that they are somewhat realistic. They slowly heat up while running, making jumps in temp with high stress or slip. It looked like driving hard lap after lap will push them past optimum temperature.

That's a big "duhhh!" because that's what happens in real life but I never thought anything like that was happening in GT. Figured it was one of the arcadey compromises. I knew they definitely started out cold and warmed up but they never felt like they slowed down. In AC you can definitely feel when you're going over optimum but GT it's much more subtle. I wouldn't be surprised if the game just artificially slows you to keep the tire model simple.

There were times in some of these past TT's where I'd be on lap 8 or 9 with no way improve. Then I'd restart due to a crash/child disturbance and lo and behold, I put down a best lap on lap 1 then crush that on lap 2. Thought it was due to getting a break/reset. This makes more sense.

PD couldn't give us blue/green/yellow/red around the tire icon instead of just flashes of red when we slide? :iono:

Trickiest track yet I think. Did a load of laps and was never quite sure what I was doing.

I would like to experiment with that crazy turn some more. Small window to hit that late apex just right to send you down the hill fast

I know I'm losing a lot of time there. No matter what I do, I can't get it right.

That's it. The only time I ever went through where it was like "hallelujah" I thought I overcooked it and went wide. Ended up with a very fast, late apex. Gotta be able to be WOT right before apex and come out of it to the middle-right of the road to get a good line through the next turn, hit that kerb down below as straight as possible without upsetting the car. Seems like when I actually try to do that I end up washing off to the outside up top then it's over.
