so does time of day matter? do the tires overheat like in real life? I did like 50 laps in a row and 6th lap was fastest or something.

I couldn’t let ya’s whoop me that bad! I did a good 8-10 laps and could only get to .405

iirc fredzy post about how tires do wears out. Usually best laps comes within 10 laps. If not, I usually retry to reset the tires

Yes optimum tire temps are probably within first 2.5 to 6 mins of hotlapping, depending on the track etc. I think time of day does matter too, surface temps will be hotter in mid day sun, probably more grip but that’s my speculation. I doubt cooler temps = more power but who knows. A few months ago I never would have guessed tires overheated in GT.

I did 25 lap races every night to get the daily mileage ticket,Oh and practice of course. Maybe I should use the unlimited car as thats where I struggle the most.

You'll pull out your hair if you're going to use a maxed out car. Lol. Maybe I should have tried different turbos for this course, but I don't want to rage quit. Already struggled with the few clean laps I was able to manage. Haha

Trying my hand at unlimited. Car is insanely difficult to drive even tuned for understeer.

Also to add, when oil become “normal”, you loose 2hp (in max 777hp mod)

2nd Gen was heated up! All of us hitting 33 secs. Literally we were fighting in 10th to 100th of sec! If I didn’t drift through the unlimited class, I would of got hat-trick… O’well

Even Will & fredzy have taken few 1st place, Laz is cruising through all 3 classes! Race 8 is Circuit de Barcelona (no chicane)! We got 3 races left of season 2.

I'm losing ground in the 1st gen class. Still won't give up using the zenki. HAHA. Barcelona definitely won't help me since it'll be too slow in any of the straights there.

I’m just amazed how fast you are w zenki… I’m using kouki w more power & still doesn’t beat your time most of the time.

A few laps in both cars. I can barely complete one in the unlimited car without entering some wild 130mph spin.

I was tuning my unlimited class GR86 & I was hitting around 1:44.xxx, so I gotta shave 2 more secs. Oof

I'll try to get my laps in tomorrow night, but work has been very tiring this week.

Initial try with all three classes. Struggled with all three unfortunately.

Yeah… I’m in the same time range. Barcelona is tricky track.

Speaking of track, race 9 track is Suzuka full track

Unlimited is crazy hard… I feel like dropping HP might help grip around the corners, but not sure it’s justifiable to lose the power in the straight. In the result lap. Best section time total would of been 1:42.5xx, so there’s hope, but I gave up

Also to add. Gen 1 best lap, I kinda went over & took semi-shortcut at the first corner. I rewatched the lap & left rear tire was still on the line… but idk. I should have saved the lap or screen cap that corner. I can re-lap or take +1sec lol

Do you think you would have gotten a track limit penalty? If so, then yeah, might want to re-lap.

Maybe I'll do another session later after I have my bite re-adjusted.

My daytime free time I had in mind to put a few laps in was eaten up by other stuff. Hopefully I can get some time before too late tonight

Relap both Gen 1 & unlimited class. Gen 1 dropped time, but unlimited bumped up on the time

I wasn’t planning on going full tryhard on this but my optimum time from my first 4 laps was close to Will’s time. Took like 10 more to finally realize it

Hope I can drop all my times. Doubt it tho. Catalunya is one of those tracks where one small mistake will kill your lap time. I know I have a second at least since I was up on my ghost, but lost it all due to a bad sector.

Yes! Hardly a single piece of that track that is straightforward.

I JUST unlocked Barcelona late last night so didn’t even bother

Damn! 2:30 w 1st gen? Damn! I’m 5 secs behind! Any tip?

Stay in 3rd gear for the slow corners and the S's. I only dropped to 2nd for that one left hairpin that's around 40 mph. I can't remember if I went into 2nd for the last chicane.

Don't go into 6th in either straight, and race drift 130R. But if you get that wrong, your lap is done. LOL. I gained the most time in the S's and at 130R.

I also wrung out every gear I was in. LOL

This track is so hard to string a perfect lap together. I had a few laps up +4/5 tenths and kept messing up at Spoon.

OMG… I thought Laz’s lap times were fast, Will is killing my hope!

lol, I knew Will was gonna crush my times.

Spoon is main spot on this track I struggle with. I call it an abstract turn, those are the ones that get me. Pretty much all of Fuji, for example.

Do you use a wheel or controller?

I hate that corner, especially the last half of it. For what ever reason my car always veers off onto the turf, even if I hug the inner rumble strip. I'm sure I'm losing at least a second there and the subsequent straight from having a poor exit.

I use a controller. I really want to get a wheel/pedals soon, just lacking in space at the moment…

It seems my years of playing Gran Turismo are finally paying off here lol.
