Alright fellas, here are my times for WG Long Course. 4 laps each and called it quits. The zenki 1st gen felt faster than the time posted. LOL

lol, I should have done the track experience, but was too lazy as well. I just did the races there. haha

Take the "S" section at the beginning of the track flat out in the twins. For me, I have to start turning in for the left turn earlier than I originally thought, kinda like the left hairpin turn before the tunnel at Trial Mountain.

I picked up the most time at the chicane. Brake much later than you think you should. I'm pretty much braking right before it actually starts and trail brake halfway through it.

I lost the most time at the boot at the corner going right. I guess it's called the "Toe" of the boot? Haven't really figured that one out, but going around 60 mph in the twins seems to work and don't overshoot the braking zone (I still haven't figured out where's the best point).

Speaking of the boot section, I think that's where I held gears instead of upshifting.

The second to last corner, the left turn one, treat it like R130 (or what ever that turn is called) at Suzuka. Don't actually need to brake in the twins for it, and a quick stab at the brakes for much faster cars.

The last corner I kept down shifting down to 3rd, but stay in 4th.

LMK how it goes after trying those out.

2:08.309 with 2nd gen

I had a head start at Watkins Glen from Assetto Corsa. I tend to prefer shorter slower tracks but I really like it. Definitely all about staying in high gear and holding momentum through turns.

I’m throwing the towel. I shave sec or so, but this is best I can do at this track

Also to add, I'll prob add Unlimited Class from Race 6. I think, that could be interesting to see how much different time everyone gets.

So it'll go from GR86 to Mazda LM55. LOL

This is where I don't shine. Haha.

Nah youll be fast as hell in anything! Unless you’re alluding to tuning… This is generally a problem for me. Still I’ll give it a go if we do it (I feel bad for not doing 1st gen :( )

I remember in GT5 days going into lobbies I’d ham-fistedly tune my car up to max specs and not be competitive at all. Figured oh well I suck. GT6 quick match same thing… until I tried some of the events where you could only use a set selection of loaner vehicles. Found myself out front with surprising regularity! Turns out tuning can make worlds of difference and I was hopeless at it. Lots of tricks, unrealistic adjustments that would never be faster in real life. I learned just what I needed to be competitive. When GT Sport came it was different, I copied tunes but never really learned it. Haven’t bothered since.

Haha still required to use 86/BRZ. Just unlimited mods.

Haha, I don't mind tuning. I'm not the best at it, and tune a car towards my racing preference (slightly over steer). I actually tend to get tuning mods rather than power assets in racing games.

Back with the original GT and GT2, I knew nothing about tuning cars. Shoot, I had never driven a car at that point yet. I played around with the different adjustments and figured out how each setting affected the car. Didn't really know the mechanics behind them, but just x affects the car in this or that way.

I don't really use group 1 and higher racing cars, so I'm not used to how they drive. Pretty sure I wouldn't be the fastest if we had to use those.

Ooooh, nice. Should be interesting. I'll have to actually mod mine then and get used to it. Haha

I gave WG a quick try on the 22 BRZ and the best I could come up with was 2:13 and change. I'll give it a few more laps today.

Edit: How is the BRZ lower than the GR in PPs?

That was the case for even older gen BRZ as well. GT86 was more PP than BRZ. Also lap time is fraction slower than 86/GR86. But I think it’s the preference imo

There is also the thing with either using the GT86 Special edition and the STi BRZ, the STi has more PP than any other first gen.

Yeah, saw that… but oddly, GT86 Special Edi has 1 bhp more than STI BRZ Sports. It’s so odd
