Removing gen2 side rocker fins?

Might there be a way to remove the gen2 rocker "fins"? In favor of some aftermarket rocker? Or is that an integral part of the vehicle body? Man, I'm just not a fan of that rocker fin. Curious if there are aftermarket options.

Interesting comment/question. I am a big fan of fins on a car -- but that is not the correct location!

Do they affect airflow?

is it plastic? than it's removable.

but no replacements that i'm aware of.

I wish it was less protruding.
It is plastic, so in theory should be replaceable.

Also curious how exactly it's mounted to the body.
On ND Miatas a similar plastic piece can be knocked off the car by a single AutoX cone hit at just the right spot and direction.

Looking at the Subaru parts diagram, it looks like it's just held on using body clips.

Mines taken a beating at autox so far, no damage or falling off so we shouldn't have that issue LOL

Can confirm it is held in just by one time use body clips, mine came off after hitting something and it wasn't cheap to replace.

Oh no :(
Do you have any photos?

Even though the stock may be held by one-time clips, wonder if they will make aftermarket solutions with different ways to bolt up utilizing whatever holes or brackets may that may be there.

can also confirm - it's held in by those clips we all hate. Accidentally popped one out the other day changing winter wheels. I don't even know how. Pried it back a little bit to take a peek and saw the clips. Popped it back in with a firm push.

I didn't take any due to it being my own fault and driving a bit too defensively, I took the car in as soon as it happened and they replaced it quickly. Cost me $1400 to replace the side skirt that was parts, labor, and paint.
