Is there a way to make the clutch lighter?

So, just to start off, I know that these cars do not have a heavy clutch in them compared to some other vehicles. My issue here is I've had two knee surgeries over the past year or so, so it can be quite a bit uncomfortable to drive manual for a while with my current condition. I LOVE this car and do not want to have to get rid of it. I'm just curious if there are any solutions to make it easier to daily? Are there lighter clutch springs or something like that available? Let me know, thanks!

In case there isn't an easy solution, some alternatives to think about:

You could try to find a larger slave clutch cylinder, but that's going to also come with a longer throw (assuming the master has enough throw).

You could go the other way and get a smaller slave cylinder for a bit less throw, but stiffer.

I'm sure there are some handicapped driver accessories.

Trade in for an auto?

I had a friend who had this issue with his beloved old Tacoma. Couldn’t manage shifting any more due to the bad knee. I looked into it for him and and long story short: no, there’s no reasonable way to lighten the clutch. Would be a pretty deep/involved/custom redesign type effort.

Fortunately for my buddy, knee replacement surgery was successful and he can enjoy driving his truck. I’d focus on doing everything possible to bring the knee back to health.
