I opted to apply Wolfgang Deep Gloss Sealant to my FR-S instead of Opticoat. It's still has great protection qualities, lasts for a few months, and is plenty affordable. Once I get around to it, adding a layer of non-cleaning carnauba wax on top helps even more and will give it that nice wet look. Here she is after Wolfgang has cured overnight. Excuse the crappy cell phone camera quality.

I used Meguiar's Paint Sealant 2.0 and looks as good as opticoat and a hell of a lot cheaper.

Also, for people looking to save money, and don't mind applying a coating, here are simple options.
Carpro cquartz uk edition. Wolf's hardbody For someone looking to use a paint sealant that's super simple. Optimum opti-seal its not opti-coat but still very nice Auto finesse tough coat Ultima paint guard plus Blackfire's crystal seal Before applying either the coating or sealant use dawn @ 1oz per gallon to wash your car until all the beading and sheeting is gone. Then apply the product of your choice. Simple, cheap, effective. |
