its not too expensive to opticoat. I've been checkign with dealers around the northern virginia area. They typically go between 225-400. I say do it for the long run.

Yea, I ordered mine and planning to do it myself. But everyone's pictures seems like their BRZ is all opticoated and I feel left out :(

Opticoating it yourself isn't too hard, it's prepping the surface beforehand that takes a shitton of work and perfection.

I highly recommend you farm this out to a detailer if you want flawless results. If you Opticoat a flawed surface, those flaws will be there for a very long time thanks to the Opticoat protecting it.

I've had my BRZ 7 days now and haven't but I have already inquired and have someone to do it. They're almost 2 hours away.

I won't be going with Opti as there are better products out there.

I'll probably do it eventually. But finding time is the pain for me.

I'm in NYC area and couldn't find anyone. I would like to still get it but I fear everyday I don't the cost will increase because that's more correction work that needs to be done. I have a couple small rock chips already and looks like someone bumped me parking. So meh.. :(

I know someone that got his done on Long Island.

Get in touch with the user "Foobar" here.

Edit: Duh. He's already in this thread.

Luckily for me, I have a silver brz. I opticoated myself... sure I probably didn't prepare it as good as professionals.. but then again its hard to see impurities in a silver car =)

I'm not sure what products are generally regarded as better when it comes to a long lasting coating to replace repeated wax or sealant application.

ngabdala 08-17-2012 02:37 PM

There's a few and they are more scratch resistant among other benefits they have over Opti.
