Having trouble with code u0155

hey guys i have a 2013 BRZ with about 129k miles on it and i am having some troubles with the u0155 code. What happens is i dont get the code if i dont use cruise control or sport mode. if i turn on cruise control, it will work for about 5 mins and then the car will just freak out and go into limp mode and i cannot turn off cruise control and i get and engine light with the code u0155. the cruise control light will stay orange until i unplug the battery. it also happens when i put the car in sports mode. what will happen there is i put it into sport mode and after about ten mins, limp mode and engine light again with code u0155. my question is has anyone had this issue? could it be a bad wiring harness? maybe a bad ecu? grounding issue? where should i start to figure this out? thanks fellas.

do you have something obd2 connected?
probably is that, and if yes, you need a better quality device

I had a similar problem (can't remember code) but went away once I disconnected the OBD2 device. Like the other person said, it might be related.

IMO, leave the OBD2 device disconnected when not in use.

i wish that was the issue but absolutely nothing is connected to my obd2 port.
-_-

I've checked the battery and the obd2 reader, all good and nothing Bluetooth is connected.

really really stupid long shot, but if have you checked that all the brake lights work? had a car that would disable cruise if the brake filaments burned out, or had led bulbs/housings installed without load balancers.

if my light bulbs are burnt out in the back? If so no, they are all good. I changed my lights in the front and i haven't tried cruise control or sport again because its a bitch when i dont have a 10mm on me lol

the only other thing i can think of that would be related to both sport mode(the paddles) and cruise control could be the clock spring wiring.

easiest step there might be to trace down and disconnect that clock spring connector and see if the problem continues

but don't they only go bad if the airbag deployed?

Jynx 02-05-2022 08:49 PM

well boys, i just tried it again and now i cant get the engine light and the cruise control works lol, this is the first time it has worked in awhile. all i did was push all the wires in under the steering wheel to make sure they weren't lose :confused0068:

You're right, parts never ever fail in unintended ways, ever.

It's not even irregular to see one fail, happens pretty often regardless of make and model

hmm okay, ill watch it for now because magically its working again and i can't get it to kick out the engine light. if it happens again ill make sure to check if it kicks out any other codes along with u0155.

sounds like something wasn't making a good connection in that wiring you pushed on.
