Clicking noise (fortune auto 500 coilovers) [Solved kinda]
Hey everyone im looking for some guidance in solving a problem.
https://youtu.be/uNXBba4WTzU I installed the coilovers myself and bought 2nd hand wheels where the 2 front wheels are completely different brand but are 255/35r18. I recently got my car aligned by a shop and its make a clicking noise (refer to the youtube link). id rather save some money and get it done myself. just to add you can clearly hear the clicking around the 13 second mark or 3 second mark in the video |
Check the top nut where the coil over bolts to the camber plate. Do not use an impact!
Also check swaybar end links. They need to be very tight or they knock. Both these are common sources for the noise. |
Can you feel the noise when it happens? My money is on a loose bolt - either endlinks or an improperly torqued strut bolt.

UPDATE:
found the culprit of the sound Swaybar was grinding my front driver-side control arm. the driver side is somehow closer to the arm than the passenger side PICTURE is underload on a ramp First picture the grinded control arm the second picture is the passenger side The third picture is the driver side Probably gonna buy a pair of OEM front control arm https://i.imgur.com/3hUQs0N.jpeg https://i.imgur.com/MgzQvKl.jpeg https://i.imgur.com/OvLf1g5.jpeg |
Get shorter/adjustable endlinks, not new control arms.
This is why some (not all) coilover kits INCLUDE adjustable or shorter endlinks. |
