GR cold air intake

Saw this on the 86Speed video of the GR parts catalog thread for the second generation GR86. This enormous cold air intake with GR branding looks like has the right proportions to fit in our first generations FRS/86/BRZs given we remove the noise tube. Anyone know of its availability?

This looks just like the TRD Cold Air Intake for our current generation. So I think that they are both similar.

Toyota 86 in the building!

Minor difference where the PCV tube fits. Assuming all the mounting points are the same, it might work.

But just because it physically fits, doesn't mean it's optimal for the 1st gen engine. Someone will need to be a guinea pig and data log to confirm any benefits.

And wow, that GR intake filter is HUGE lol. The TRD is already pretty big...

The MAF location on the TRD was super turbulent. I ended up installing a straightening screen just in front of it.

If the intake doesn't come across the pond, are you willing to import to filters?

That air box looks really small vs the area of the filter. Curious to see a flow bench result vs the stock intake. I’m kinda skeptical this will make measurable power.
