Dealership reccomendations wanted - Victoria - Eastern suburbs

Hi All,

I am very keen on either an 86 GTS AT or BRZ AT. I'm hopefully test driving both tomorrow and if I'm happy with either car I'll think about making a decision between one or the other.

I have read through previous topics however I was wondering if people could reccomend dealerships they've had good experiences with in the Eastern suburbs of Victoria, and ones I should avoid. I'm well aware of the wait time and I'm actually happy about this as it will allow me to pay for the car in full without a loan by the time it arrives.

Thanks :burnrubber:

Haha, well Croydon Toyota tried to tell me there was no difference between the GTS Auto and the GT Auto they have as their demo car for test drive. I lol'ed. I guess that's one to avoid if they don't even understand there's differences.

I test drove a GTS auto at Lane toyota in glen waverley. I am happy with them so ar.

Stay away from ferntree gully Toyota. Dodgy dodgy dodgy dodgy.

^thanks! I'll pop into Glen Waverly if I don't have any luck locating a GTS Auto at any of the slightly more local dealers. I had read not so positive things about FTG Toyota so thanks, they wouldn't have been my first preference unless they offer my a price I can't refuse.

If you don't mind going away from the eastern suburbs, i recommend seeing Deon down at Subaru Docklands.
Great guy to deal with, and being the biggest dealer/Premium STi dealer in Aust, they are happy for a bit of "spirited" driving :)

Experiences today - Croydon Toyota got defensive when I didn't want to test drive the GT because it's not the car I'm interested in. Ferntree Gully Toyota couldn't test drive next weekend but were very friendly and helpful. Lilydale Toyota were very friendly, not pushy but no GTS to test drive. Nunawading Toyota were pushy, wouldn't test drive without a deposit and require a $2k deposit, but they did quote the cheapest price. Lilydale Subaru gave me a brochure but weren't too interested in my business. Now at Docklands Subaru where I'll finally get a test drive. So far the seem helpful. Still undecided between the BRZ and the 86 but I think the BRZ is winning on price, look and the unique colour...

Loved my experience at Subaru Docklands, great bunch of people, absolutely no pressure. I think I'm sold on a BRZ WRC Blue, love the colour, like the front and interior better than the 86. With the free servicing it's better value and the wait time suits me just fine :-)

Yeah the guys down at Docklands are nice to deal with and just don't come across as pushy as the Toyota guys.

Do you reckon I could get it delivered at the Docklands (as they were the ones kind enough to hand over the keys to their BRZ and let me take it away on my own no questions asked) but have it serviced closer to home?

About to place my order for a WRC Blue Mica BRZ Premium Pack with heated leather/alacantra seats, rear diffuser and floor mats.

Yeah you can get the servicing done at any Subaru dealer. :)
