California emissions
I'm in Colorado with an STX prepped car. Effective the start of this year, Colorado adopted California emissions standards. I could use a little insight from someone familiar with the process. I understand I will need to put the stock header and exhaust on, since OEM or CARB certified cats are required. When I do that, will the flashed ECU (ecutek, if that matters) throw codes that will still cause a fail? Or is the altered ECU itself an automatic fail? Putting the exhaust on and off will be enough of a pain in the backside, I really hope that at least that's all that's needed.

Maybe this is a silly question, but are you sure CO will be implementing the same BAR/CARB style enforcement/testing measures?
For many- perhaps all- of us in NY which technically follows CA emissions guidelines, we’ve yet to be subjected to such inspections. I’m genuinely curious… |

Officially the answer is yes, although I guess I can't say I'm sure yet. I have the pleasure of being up in February, so I don't have to a lot of time to get things sorted. |
