Disabling seatbelt warning chime
To disable the seatbelt warning chime:
I can confirm this works on my '22 BRZ Limited. This thread is meant to be informative, not to start a debate on the virtue of "idiot deterrents" :). Hat tip to this YouTube video that showed up on my feed this morning (seatbelt bit starts 4 mins in). this YouTube video |
The sound of the seatbelt warning chime is kinda’ nice. It’s like a gentle reminder to strap yourself in.

On the gen.1 at least you could push the rubber knob in the door jamb, but in 2022 even it is gone. |
I don't plan on disabling it but always good to know I have the option.

Thanks @cpierr03! The seat belt alarm is very annoying especially when you just want to move your car around the house and the alarm gets super loud. I did this and it worked the first try. One thing I noticed that I do like is the seat belt alarm will still activate when you first start the car, but it will stop in a normal time. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Thank you for this! That chime is unbearable.
