Ordering a Gen 2
Is anyone else getting discouraged by the roulette style ordering process of ordering a gen 2? I just left the dealer and they told me that I had to put down a deposit and wait until they match a car with my specs which i built on toyota's website, and they also told that I may not get exactly what I want even though I am dropping a lot of cash on it. They did find a base one that was close to what I wanted but they tried to sell me on all season floor mats and paint film which is meaningless. Are all the dealers in the tri-state like this?

welcome to toyota's order process. "we make what we make, and you can either love it or hate it."

unfortunately, it's Dealer Market right now. if you dont like it, visit other dealer to find what you need. otherwise, you have to suck it up and buy it.

Depends how far you’re willing to travel. But I got mine with no hassle for Msrp. They offered add ons but it wasn’t an issue saying no.

I spent about a month looking for a 2022 that had a six speed and every place I called had none on lot, had already taken deposits on ones they knew they would be getting, and refused to put me on a waiting list or order one for me! Luckily for me while I was in the process of looking at having to settle for something I didn’t want just to have transportation someone traded in a 2015 FR-S with 50k miles on it. I was a little wary of the mileage, and they definitely gouged me on the price a bit but at least I have a version of what I wanted so I can learn stick and see how I get along with the little sports car!
