BRZ Bumper Swap
 

Anybody have any idea if the GR86 bumper is a direct bolt on. I assume it would, everything looks the same.

The only thing I could think of that may be an issue is the size of the toyota emblem and subaru emblem.

From pictures, it looks like the subaru emblem is more ovular and the toyota emblem is more circular and there seems to be an indent in the bumper for each respective emblem.

Any thoughts?

Obviously my first choice would be to wait but car got totaled so i pretty much needed a car asap to get to work...

Got very lucky and a dealership nearby had a BRZ that wasn't accounted for so I went ahead and snagged it.

Was hoping to get an 86 but due to the circumstances, no dice.

Someone on Reddit said they checked out both and it should be a direct fit. It's something I'm considering but the front of the BRZ is growing on me a lot, so I may end up saving myself the trouble now.

Gotcha, any idea if the size of the emblems are the same or at least similar?

Honestly after looking at it in person, the BRZ front end looks so much better than in pictures but the 86 bumper still does it for me. May just hold off for a while to see if it's even worth the hassle.

The only real gripe is that stupid license plate molding in the front bumper, looks horrible...

Its cheaper (by half) than buying the two aluminium knuckles...

Interesting, so how much is the GR86 bumper selling for and does it come painted?

I know the Subaru isn't painted, and its ~300

I guess once you have added the side fender aero bits and paint the bumper its probably not much of a saving and potentially more expensive!

This time around it looks way simpler than the Gen 1 cars. The biggest issue with Gen 1 cars is the different headlights, different fog light housing, different front turn signal lamps.

Gen 2, the headlights look identical in shape, there are no fog lights, and the turn signal lamps are integrated into the headlights.
