Big brake kit
Hey guys I need help!! When I get my 2022 brz, I want to run wilwood big brake kits front and back but I'm not sure about fitment or anything on the new gen brz. The website Carid says it will fit the 2017 Subaru BRZ limited. Will it fit the new gen ?
Wilwood® - Street Performance GT Slotted Rotor Forged Narrow Superlite Caliper Brake Kit Front brake Rotor diameter: 327mm (12.88") Rotor thickness: 28mm (1.1") Rear brake Rotor diameter: 327mm (12.88") Rotor thickness: 20.5mm (0.81") |
BBK stands for Big Brake Kit.
You slow down with brakes, it's the Subaru engine that breaks. |
What problem are you trying to solve by buying a BBK?
Brake pedal feel? Looks? Do you track/autox/both? |

Have you looked into the pricing? Is it reasonable?
I saw that other brand that was a total of about $6 or $7,000 total, and thought it was ridiculous for a $30,000 car! |

Get the BBK with the heaviest rotor rings you can find that fit your desired wheels and budget, and doesn't make compromises you're unhappy with (e.g. noise). |

But if you insist on non-Brembo's, have you considered AP Racing instead? |

The problem with Wilwoods is they lack dust seals so they really aren't good for street driving, but they are cheaper. OP, you say you want to track the car. Have you ever been on track before? If you're a beginner the stock brakes with upgraded pads and fluid are more than enough, then you can add ducting. The stock brakes will be plenty until you reach the point of HPDE 4 and/or Hoosiers and/or more HP and/or aero. Unless you're going every other weekend at which point the cheaper consumables make sense. |
