Caliper Paint w/emblem Customization
Hey y'all,
Has anyone who has painted calipers ever tried also doing a stencil with a different color to get a more custom look? For example painting the caliper all black, then placing a stencil and painting the Subaru Pleiades emblem in white or different color... Would this work or would the primary paint coat prevent the design paint from properly setting? I've always been curious if this was possible and figured it would be one of those "little things" to make a small improvement look even more professional. If this has been tried and it peeled or etc then I'd rather not waste my time! :thanks: Thanks! |
Its do-able.... like most painting, its all in the prep. Good luck

Generally you would wait until that first color is dry. And depending on your paint its most likely a glossy paint. Your 2nd layer may or may not hold onto the glossy paint without sanding a little. Then you may want to put a layer of clear coat on top for the glossy look.

Honestly, just buy a decal, it's way way easier and holds up well.

I ordered the JDM piston badges since I'm not sure how well my paint job would have come out. Congrats for making it work for you though.

^^ ahh, I see what you did there :D
That reminds me, I need to commission one of my artist friends to do some hand-painting in the near future. |
