Engine/Trans mounts
Does anyone know if mounts from the 2013-2020 are compatible with 2022+ cars? Am looking specifically at the STI transmission mount, but potentially also at STI engine mounts.

Per Perrin's updated shop shows the Rear shifter bushing and engine mount kit as compatible across generations. Dunno about the OEM parts but it looks like it should be close/the same for those two at least. |
The rear trans mount and shifter stay bushing are the exact same. The engine mounts changed, but not sure about compatibility.

Thank you both! I'll order the STI trans mount then and can be a guinea pig

If this works out it basically confirms ezpz 2.4 swap to 1st gen chassis.

It might take me awhile before getting to them. I ordered STi engine mounts and will report back if they fit once my shop can get me in.

I was just thinking about this the other day. Not sure if it's just me but the mounts feel softer than the ones from the previous generation

I have a set of the STI engine mounts I was going to put on my Gen 1, but ended up returning to stock before I did for trade-in. Looking at the parts diagram Gen 1 and 2 have different part numbers (41020CC000 [2022] vs 41022CA000 [2017]). The prior Gen mounts also have locator block on the rear bolt where as, at least in the diagram, the Gen 2 mounts do not. *Edit: The Gen 1 STI mounts also have this block
If I have time this weekend, I could jack up the car and poke around, but I'm not expecting these mounts to work on a Gen 2. **Double edit: AVO Turboworld used their same trans bushing insert for 2016+ manual trans on a Gen 2. Whiteline offers something similar https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=09-AL2R1bkA |
I am under the car already today, and I have all 3 STI mounts sitting around....
Also, the front subframe looks to be compatible with the longer steering rack bolts as well. |

I was honestly thinking the same thing. Maybe it’s the same stiffness but with the extra torque and grip? The drivetrain feels looser to me. |

Engine mounts are a bit different. They removed the rear mount riser and have a flat flange.
Good news everybody! I modified my STI mounts so they fit. I'm on a lunchbreak and not finished yet. I'll come back with a bit more detail. |
Gratuitous stock vs STI trans mount shot. STI on the right.

Stock 22 on the right. https://i.ibb.co/h2vx8YR/PXL-20220106-180755351.jpg https://i.ibb.co/LxSZN7Z/PXL-20220106-180748887.jpg What I chose to do is to run a unibit down the support until it separated from the mount, leaving the support washer on the other side intact. I did this because I suck at using a hacksaw, and no good way to hold it for a cutoff wheel. https://i.ibb.co/YNGrCSh/PXL-20220106-181735796.jpg I went ahead and used a M10 washer so that it sits flat against the block. https://i.ibb.co/W3LGF1H/PXL-20220106-181914079.jpg Installed** https://i.ibb.co/wpwfBTz/PXL-20220106-194742478.jpg The subframe mounting stud for the STI mount is smaller than the stock 22 mount. You will need to source a pre 22 nut P/N: 902380011 The engine appears to sit at the same height as the stock mounts. i haven't had a chance to take it on the road yet as one of the OP studs broke on removal. |
