2022 MT to AT center console swap
Here's how I swapped the center console out.
I ordered and used Subaru parts: Center console: 92113CC010 Lid console box: 92114CC000 Front console mat: 92177CC010 Console foam: 92166CC000 & 92166CC010 The mat for the cubby comes with the cubby so no need to order one. Start by removing the parking brake cover. Just pull it up. https://i.ibb.co/dcpnnK4/PXL-20220101-184148713.jpg Remove the trim piece under the hvac controls. The top corners are the easiest to get into. https://i.ibb.co/W2tFJf5/PXL-20220101-184240560.jpg Remove the 2 screws from the outer shifter trim. https://i.ibb.co/qBDJfL1/PXL-20220101-184310139.jpg Pull up at the back, then remove to the rear. https://i.ibb.co/jLCMpJ6/PXL-20220101-184410872.jpg Remove the inner shifter trim. If removing completely, remove shift knob first. https://i.ibb.co/Jtq083P/PXL-20220101-184433311.jpg Remove the screws at the front of the console. https://i.ibb.co/wrQqgs9/PXL-20220101-184507229.jpg Remove the covers from the rear console bolts. https://i.ibb.co/GPWnL4c/PXL-20220101-195109179.jpg Remove the rear console bolts with a 10mm socket. https://i.ibb.co/xFBfCMQ/PXL-20220101-184621196.jpg Lifting at the front to separate it then go to the next step. https://i.ibb.co/NxYd0Sh/PXL-20220101-184718275.jpg Unplug the USB plug with the push nub where my finger is. https://i.ibb.co/R4GZYsn/PXL-20220101-184755783.jpg Remove the other plug with the push nub on the center underside of the plug. https://i.ibb.co/wwBwzhC/PXL-20220101-184809780.jpg Remove the center console. Remove the plugs from the USB unit. https://i.ibb.co/HBKNq2k/PXL-20220101-185038205.jpg Unclip the harness from the console in 3 places. https://i.ibb.co/jrxRJMZ/PXL-20220101-185302306.jpg https://i.ibb.co/C74tPyz/PXL-20220101-185327376.jpg https://i.ibb.co/FKGpXt2/PXL-20220101-185355458.jpg Remove the 5 screws to remove the 2 switch panels with harness attached. https://i.ibb.co/WVV1rDQ/PXL-20220101-185422941.jpg Remove the 9 screws from the console that hold the side trim and drink pockets. https://i.ibb.co/HqQTF6S/PXL-20220101-185706949.jpg Remove the side trim pieces. They have clips attaching them, I used a screwdriver to start the separation before pulling them off. https://i.ibb.co/VQdBZD4/PXL-20220101-185957659.jpg Here are some pictures of them together. https://i.ibb.co/NncpDVG/PXL-20220101-190240860.jpg MT cubby on the right. You can see that the screw tabs do not line up. https://i.ibb.co/3dmnFkk/PXL-20220101-190353928.jpg Install the AT cubby into the AT console and install the side trim with 9 screws. https://i.ibb.co/pZPR1Bz/PXL-20220101-190546410.jpg Install the switches with harness and 5 screws. Install the USB module into the cubby and plug it in. clip in the harness. I also installed the foam in the same places that the MT console had them https://i.ibb.co/n0c3dH4/PXL-20220101-194339031.jpg Installation is the reverse of removal. https://i.ibb.co/Yt2MtHL/PXL-20220101-195238490.jpg |
Awesome write up! Thanks dragoontwo!

Absolutely phenomenal write up. Thank you so much for doing this. Likely to be my very first mod, well, unless you count my CG-Lock lol.

Great write-up! I might have to do this if I cannot find a better place to put my phone. Do you find yourself using the new cup holder for your phone or a drink?
|
Nice write up. :thanks:
Do you notice the increased height at all when shifting? |
Nice write up. Thanks for doing this. Looks like great option for my phone. What was the total cost of doing the swap?

Besides a drink blocking shifting... I wonder why it just didn't come like this?
