Love and a lot of TLC if you want to keep it looking like that. I've owned a few black cars and will never own one again unless I have a resident detail person to take care of it.

Yes i owned black cars too and i know.I would own again one if i could find a garage.Much easier to keep it clean and do some detailing myself!

57DR? What size? Any clearance issues?

boy_racer 12-16-2021 03:56 PM

Yes 57DR.I don't know sizes, the photos were taken from Rays wheels USA instagram post, but hks had clearance issues in the back with 18x9 and 255 tyres

Me likey. I had 3 black vehicles at once a while black. It was a very big job keeping em detailed

Black isn’t a color, it’s a lifestyle.

Don't bother with black cars if you live anywhere with 4 seasons.... But man, that would look great with some different-coloured wheels (black on black just doesn't do it for me)

I agree with you,i like the set up but i'd probably choose another rim color

My black car is sitting in the garage looking dirty, I didn't wash it before storage. Maybe a dry wash with a soft towel and some spray. I have 3 1/2 months to think about it.
If you are OCD over your exterior, don't get black. It is the sexiest colour though.

I'm kinda leaning toward black, but I'd want some nice bright silver OEM+ look wheels to sit in there.. eventually.

Believe it or not, my top wheel pick (at basically any price) is the Rota Garagiste. It's exactly the look I want.. and seems to be a unique design and not a replica. Flush outer face kinda thing, pic below on a WRX. Seems there are zero on planet earth in the right size - 19X8.5 e45 5X100

Anybody have any ideas of a wheel that might have a similar look? I think I've seen every wheel ever designed at this point.

For those that have never had a black car, it's a whole other world detailing wise. Nothing is nicer than a black car that has been detailed and polished correctly and nothing worse than one that has not.

Mine is black and gets compliments even when it’s dirty like hell… I live on a dirt road so detailing is a fools errand… people can recognize a natural beauty even through the mud :-)

Black is gorgeous when it's clean but also collects everything like a magnet. I haven't had a black car since my 2002 is300. That was back in 2008.
