Best Header for Sound?

Question for you all... long time 2014 BRZ limited owner new poster to this forum.. I've been around just haven't ever taken the time to post... just reading!! What is your opinion of the best header for the money for sound? I was looking at the FT86 Speed UEL. I like the "Subaru rumble" noise you hear in some cars.

JDL!!!

Gruppe-S UEL in the commercial classifieds section. If you must keep a cat JDL offers a nice one.

If you are just looking for the sound aspect, it doesn't really matter. The UELs will all sound close to the same. The money comes in if you are seeking build quality or higher performance margins.

My loyalty is with Tomei, but any reputable header make will do swell as well. :slap:

I would recommend you think more closely about the complete exhaust system. The catback exhaust (as well as perhaps the front pipe if you are expecting on changing that) will be important in the sound you are seeking as well

I'd say Tomei or JDL

JDL hands down. Pricey, but their quality is unmatched. You get a lifetime warranty and the chance to have them ceramic coat it for you.

The next thing to consider would be emissions, but that all depends on state. Next thing to choose would be what your goals are. Pure Performance? Equal Length. Good performance/ sound? Unequal Length.

FT86 makes a good header too, just slightly below the quality of JDL.

This is a completely subjective topic. One person's "best" sound may be another's nightmare noise. Also what exhaust is going to be used in conjunction with the header? There are some truly horrible sounding combinations out there.

JDL, Tomei, gruppe-s are similar.

JDL catted for quality option with a cat. Also keeps the sound down a bit compared to catless.

You mean all the YouTube bros slapping catless headers, catless front pipes and muffler deletes on their cars?

Some yes.
Mainly the BRZ in my neighbourhood that somehow managed to make his boxer sound like a base trim 1996 Chrysler Neon though.
