Oil Catch Can?

Has anyone done any test fitting and/or research on if a catch can will help with the 2022?

I notice that under the Subaru/Toyota cover the vacuum line is gone/blocked off, so only the PCV line is there. Due to the re-routing of some lines, I dont know if the Mishimoto mounting area for their oil CC works. I also dont have a bracket around to see if the Radium mounting area will work.

May not need this for NA - but i'm not familar with the FA24. Anyone got details?

The previous gen didn't have a real need for a catch can, there's no reason the new gen would either.

PCV side can get a fair amount of blow by on the first gen. This is after half a dozen track days and probably 40 or 50k street miles (it was a high mileage car)

Shhhhhhhh people on this forum like to spit out feelings instead of facts.

I poured/wiped oil out of my mishimoto can every oil change.

I was getting visable oil on my Grimmspeed intake and got the dual Radium setup. Never get anything on the breather tube side now though so probably gonna fab a bracket and put it on the PCV side of my wife's new ZD8

~2 oz. of oil over the course of 40-50k miles and 6 track days, this seems like a pretty good argument against the need for a catch can for these cars...

BRZ is the only car I've had that doesn't need any top-off oil over 5k miles and 4-6 track days between changes.

I had a catch can on the PCV side for the first few years and it collected almost nothing.

YMMV , as you can see.

Regarding the pic above, the amount of oil shown from maybe 45,000 miles and some track days would have easily burned off going into the intake as it blew through the system.

It is my understanding that a certain amount of oil is expected to blow by, just not an amount that gunks things up or potentially causes detonation.

I thought that the engine having port as well as direct fuel injection minimized the necessity of messing with the PCV?
