AP racing brake kit recommended pads

I was gifted a retired track FRS that has AP racing brake kit on it. Im using the car as a daily now and trying to nurse it back to health. The AP racing kit is great if this were my track car but it isnt. Does anyone have a pad recommendation for this kit that might be a little quieter and less dusting?

Hawk HPS has worked well for me with the Sprint kit on this platform.

Which AP brake kit? And any idea what pads are on the car right now? Kinda hard to make recommendations without knowing more specifically what you have.

If this is the Sprint or Endurance (plain anodized aluminum, grey w/ yellow lettering basically), it's not suited to overwinter use where salt is used on the roads. It may be better to find some standard calipers to swap in, if this is the case.

I have the Sprint; I've found even Carbotech 1521 to occasionally be noisy but mostly good; though nothing close to everything else I've run (Carbotech AX6, Ferodo DS2500 mostly). I kinda suspect the slotted rotors are partly to blame. So much fun driving around the city with loud brakes. 1521 are ok. Track pads are even louder than the ax6 or 2500.

+2 on the carbotech 1521's. On my Wilwood BBK nothing has come close to them for low dust and quietness on street. I run XP10/8's for track pads with out re-bedding needed. Plus they will last forever! They are kind of expensive but worth it.

You most likely have our Sprint Kit, which can be seen here:

As the manufacturer of that kit, our recommendation for road and sport use is the Ferodo DS2500. It has worked well for a huge number of customers across many applications:

It's a tremendous compound that can handle any type of canyons, daily driving, autoX, and even a substantial amount track use if you go down that path someday. As long as they're bedded-in they stay quiet. They do have moderate dust though.

Good luck with the new ride!

Ive been using Endless MX72 for the last year, and been very happy with them on the AP kit.
I've not yet found any high performing pad that is great with dust...but I think that comes under the "there's no such thing as a free lunch" reality.
The pads and disks need a really proper bedding in..its well worth it.
And I've found squeal can be moderated or even almost eliminated with very careful/judicious use of a copper paste, and a gentle chamfering of some of the pad material edges (depending on the dimensions of the chosen pad... they can all differ very slightly).
The AP kit is terrific, and well worth taking the time and effort to come to terms with.
