Vland Headlight Boomerangs as DRLs
So I recently had got some Vland Headlights installed by reputable shop on my 2017 Toyota 86 and noticed the Boomerangs aren’t running as DRLs.
The Shop Owner said the Boomerangs are intended to run with the Parking Lights and not as DRLs, but would be willing to re-wire them to run as DRLs if I wanted them to, next week. After doing some research I found the that the Leveler Harness (Triangle Connector) is what allows the Boomerangs to run as DRLs. The Shop Owner never connected it because the 2017 86 models do not come with a manual Leveler function so it’s completely useless. So after checking the connections and connecting the harness myself, it WORKED!! Now I’m unsure if I should just leave it alone and let the Shop Owner take a look and go from there, or just wire it myself. My main concern is crossing wires that shouldn’t be crossed because he did have to do some “custom” wiring work to get them to function without a hiccup but I’m not sure what that entails. Thoughts??? |
Are you now using the triangle harness to the leveler?

You can run it either way. With the boomerang as a DRL or parking light.
VLAND had some wires backwards out of the box but if you don't use the leveler 12v tap, you'll run them as parking lights. If you do, they'll run as DRLs. That's why VLAND has a tap into the leveler plug. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...2c0cdb49_b.jpg ^^ Wired for DRL. |
