Door sill and center console pads

Why were the door sill and center console pads for your knees taken out of the second Gen? On the center console area they even still have the little plastic pieces where the leather pads used to be.

Some reviewers have already commented on their absence as well.

First guess is something to keep everyone wanting for the 2.5 gen refresh

its part of the GR accessory. I'm not sure if it will be available for NA.

give it 2 years. it'll be like the arm rests. the first 1.5 years, nigeljdm was about the only place to get them. then after that, literally everyone stocked it.

First model year or maybe first two model years of the FRS didn't get cushioned knee pads either. I'm not a bigger person like Matt Farah so it never really bothered me.

FRS got them in 2014. Not sure when or even if the BRZ ever got them.

Very odd to to remove as a base option unless they want to nickel and dime people on add ons.

Do you have photos of which pads you're referring to?
I have some padding in the knee area on my '17 Limited.
Though in my experience, those are still not sufficient for autox.

Ya there is very little padding to the pads!
