Idle RPM dip.... video inside.

This is starting to get annoying. It comes and goes, regardless of whether AC or other accessories are on or off, and regardless of whether its hot or cold. ECT must, however, be at full operating temperature; it won't do it while the engine is cold.

Dips at 0:06, 0:27, 0:48, 1:12

I hope it doesn't turn out to be another one of those blown engine stories...

Mine's going into toyota tomorrow for this but a lot more severe. It nearly stalls, car shudders, misfires etc :S

Cool that you can fix it. Can you reverse engineer it and tell us what makes the factory ECU do it?

Interesting that the dips are every 19 seconds, like some sort of cycle.

Ummmm idle control tables are set too dam low !

It's trying to save you fuel. Either that or a misfire in cylinder #5. Mine dips, but I can't say I've seen that type of dip before while just idling.

I would be worried when someone's problem started with this idle RPM dip and ended up having the engine rebuilt. :iono:

I'm curious to why that would result in a rebuild.

For the record, I'd never except a rebuild of an engine this new. I wouldn't even want a new engine. I'd probably bitch until they replaced the car.
