Daaaamn trapping 101 mph is no joke. That matches a 987 Cayman.

Well deserved.

Thank you Subaru and Toyota

What's interesting is the BRZ's 1/4 mile time (13.9 @ 101 mph) is pretty even with the mk8 GTI (14.2 @ 102 mph). But in that test that Jason Camissa did, the GTI pulled the BRZ pretty decently in the drag race.

Remember about the tires, GTI was not with all-season on that. Probably the CD testjng is with the manufacturer’s tire, which means that there is some time left on the table.

Looks like the GTI was tested on summer tires. Similar grip and skidpad numbers to the BRZ/86 on the PS4.

I'm guessing for the BRZ/86 to put up those numbers at the drag strip, it needs to be launched pretty hard being NA.

They put up better 1/4 mile numbers than a FBO E85 twin. The best I have ever seen was 13.7-8 with a FD change and drag radials on a previous gen. I have to say I was proven wrong with how well the new engine would preform. If my SC'd engine ever pops I'd look FA24D before K24A.

Looks like both the GR86 and the BRZ are/were up for Road and Track PCOTY too?

Not sure when that is actually announced.

I was thinking that those are some pretty big muscle competition but then I realized…not many new performance cars actually came out. Maybe that’s why they included both.

It's usually a spread of new sporty cars of varying prices iirc.

Wonder how many shifts to get to 60. Sounds like limiter in 2nd got it there.

Yup, hits 60 in second. But only just.

I think the automatic will top out around 65~66 in 2nd. So the automatic is only marginally slower as a result of the taller gearing.

Wish they recorded all of their attempts. Would be fun to watch.
