Jacking the car from one side
So to explain my question, my 86 had Fortune coilovers which dropped me about 2inches more or less. Add on top of that I have a pretty long Verus front splitter. The problem this creates is my garage isnt huge and in order to jack the car up from the front I have to drive it up on a special low profile ramp in order to get to the front jacking point. In a garage my size this is a pain in the ass.
So my question is, do I hurt anything by jacking one side up high enough to get two jackstands on one side, then jacking the other side to get the car up in the air. The repeat again on both sides so I have it high enough to get me and a creeper underneath and not have my nose touching the undertrays. I ask because the car looks stressed when I put it high enough to slip a stand underneath. |
Jack up one side in front, put something under the wheel (some boards will do) that will allow you to jack up the car from the front once it is lowered.

I just use the low pro ramps to access the proper front jacking point, really not that much extra effort.

What low pro ramps? The only ones I can find are damn near $500 |

The problem for me is pulling onto the ramps puts the nose outside of the garage and in an ideal world I could work on my car during the winter without having to keep my garage door open. That’s why I was asking if I could just jack up one side then the other. |

Flip the car around so you start with the garage door open and when you drive onto the ramps you can close it? |
Makes sense

Yes, just jack up one side from the reinforced area of the pinch weld. The back wheel will come up pretty quickly after the front.

I use the oem widow maker jack to raise one side just enough so the bigger jack can fit under the front bumper. Same with the rear pinch welds so I can access the diff.
