Took my car to Vorshlag tonight so they could get some measurements, look the car over, and weigh it...

2744 lbs with 1/4 tank

Unless hanger placement changed (doubtful) the Gen 1 exhaust fits. Aftermarket headers fit fine too.

Am I seeing 56% of the weight on the front end? What happened to the 53/47 distribution they've been touting?

1/4 tank of gas and no jack in the trunk. Gas tank is in the rear of the car.

That was a lie... It's been a pretty craptastic 55/45 with a full tank and driver from the beginning. I've gotten mine to 53.5/46.5 with 5 lb. battery, 2-piece front rotors, catless header, and empty washer fluid reservoir taking 50 lb. off the front. Seems like the new one might be slightly nose-heavier. DOH!

They should make a 2-seat version with rear wheels shoved a good 10" forward, shorter wheelbase, lighter weight, stiffer chassis, and ~50/50 distribution...

Does weight distribution matter as much given the placement of the drivetrain? If it was sitting higher, I would expect the car to feel more like any other FWD car. Nose heavy and prone to understeer, squat, and dive.

From my own experience, and knowing how well the car does in autocross and other events, the lower CG seems to mask those issues and the car overall feels light at the front.

It matters. Particularly if you want to add power, but even at stock power levels, it doesn't help that the outside front is relatively overworked and the outside rear relatively underworked. Overall feel is still quite good, but even with a lot of front camber and rear-biased spring stiffness, I'd like mine to "point" a bit better and to abuse the outside front a bit less...

Put a spare tire in the wheel well and fill the tank up. Problem solved.

I already do that to meet weight for my time trials class! Sometimes add a stock front brake rotor on top of the spare! Still no better than ~53.5/46.5 even with 5 lb. battery, 12-lb. lighter front rotors, empty washer reservoir, and catless header (-50 lb. off the nose of the car).

Higher center of masses = more longitudinal weight transfer when accelerating or decelerating, meaning the car is less prone to understeer when trail braking.

The first time I drove an STI vs BRZ one after another on a frozen lake, the BRZ understeered when I carried too much speed into a corner, whereas the front of the STI was grabbing, and the car was turning in a lot more confidently.

Squat/dive is also a function of spring rates, wheel base, anti-squat/anti-dive suspension geometry, etc.
