Difference between Opti-Coat and Opti-Guard?

Hey fellas, been Googling around can't find a good answer. I keep reading posts/threads on opti-coat and opti-guard. To me they sound like the same thing.

anyways, Just wondering if it actually is the same thing with a different name or are they completely 2 different products that does the same job or better? :iono:

Cheers! :happy0180:

Hey Dave,

Opti-Coat was the original coating from OPT. This is for professionals only.

The OPT came out with a Opti-Coat 2.0 this was a "weakened" for lack of a better term version of the original Opti-Coat for enthusiasts.

Then people started getting the two confused so the original Opti-Coat became Opti-Guard along with some changes to it to improve its characteristics whilst remaining professional only. Also Opti-Guard comes with warranty Opti-Coat doesnt.

If your in Sydney I would see Scott at Superior Shine.

PS he is also away until the 20th I believe.

I actually got OPT to answer this question for me:

Opti-coat is slightly thinner then Opti-guard
Opti-guard can only be applied by an approved detailer.

They're the only differences.

Yeah mine is Opti Guarded by Superior and has a warranty card which you register online with your vehicle and personal details.

Scott did a top job!

I would reccomend Scott at Superior Shine as JDMSushi has, he makes sure every little thing around the car is perfect and works on some of the highest caliber cars in Australia.

Cheers Mitch, just sent him an email for a quote and referral from you
