A lot of people on the internet are teenagers who either can't even drive a car or are very immature and have a very narrow worldview and are not able to see any perspective other than their own. It's not really worth trying to explain the car to them or argue with them. Unfortunately the nature of the internet makes it so that the opinion of a 10 year old who only knows about cars from Need For Speed is just as visible as someone who has a lifetime of experience driving real cars. There will always be people who hate any car, for the simple reason that many people will hate on anything that makes the thing that they own look bad. I have a fun game of trying to guess what car a person owns before I get to the "my ... is so much better." There's no use in arguing with these people, because their narrow-minded opinion will never be changed and doesn't really matter anyways. Really, this car is no better or worse than the Genesis Coupe, as this review states very fairly.
"Essentially, a lot of what this comparison comes down to is how you, as a driver, get your kicks. If you’re the type of person who needs power and outright speed, the Genesis Coupe 2.0T R-Spec will probably win your dollars. And, it still won’t let you down in other aspects of driving, especially when it comes to livability. If you draw pleasure from magical, telepathic handling, and from the challenge of keeping momentum, you’ll likely prefer either the Subaru BRZ or the Scion FR-S."
That's really all there is to it. People will get defensive because the car is receiving a lot of attention, mostly positive, and it makes them feel insecure about their decision to buy or "root for" some other car. At the end of the day we are lucky to have so many choices in cars that everyone can get something that satisfies their own personal requirements.
