The only thing I don't really like is the colors are muted. The Sage Gray (which is really green) is probably my favorite, followed by the "Blue Stone" and "Mohave Sand".

With all the black accents though, I think it would be fantastic in red or orange.

She like the blue and since 95% of her car buying is based on what colour she can get that helps.

Speaking of BRAT...i wonder of Subaru just has bad timing on their side, since they also tried entering/tried to expand that segment later on with the Subaru Baja that lasted only 2 or 3 years.

The Baja was grossly overpriced for what it was and that doomed it right from the start. It did do the standard 3 year model run though so they at least tried to compete in the light truck segment where it can be tough even at the right price point.

Add me to the Brat fans.

There were very few sold in my area, If I wanted to see Subaru’s or Saabs I needed to skip over the border to Vermont, they seemed to have an unfair abundance of them there.

These pics were taken in July 2019 at a local car show.
It’s a wonder how he kept this one, as rust overcame most of them in just a few years time.

Oh great pictures. Now I have to add one to my "Cars I wanted" model kit collection. Probably going to cost me near as much as the real thing.

$49.95 on amazon.ca

A buddy of mine owned a white Brat in the early 90's. We were traveling together on business in Hong Kong and he found a knock off "Subaru Blat" model kit that was a tank track version of the Brat. He still has it in his den.

I don't think you guys missed much with the Brat. We had quite a few of them in Cal. A good friend of mine had one when we were young. I drove it several times, and helped him put in a new engine when the original gave out at about 60k. I wouldn't call it a great car. It was really rare to see one with those back seats still in it.

They sure are giving away a lot of the Santa Cruz lately on the Price is Right.

That's not horrible.

No car is perfect and it is probably more of a "it was rare so cool" thing.

It was $30 US on the .com site. Apparently you can also still get the Hot Wheels of it. I saw that for about $8 US.

Your right. Someone on the Santa Cruz forum has done an orange wrap and it looks great.

Forum here wouldn't let me post the pic. Don't think you have to be a member there to see it.
For me, sage gray was the best of some bad choices. I couldn't do black again.

I've had mine for a couple of months now. Sage gray ultimate. I have 5600km on her so far. Love the cooled seats, auto high beams, all around cameras and driver assist aids. No concerns about the power any longer as pick up in the passing range 50-80 is pretty good. Been getting 9 liters/100km or 26mpg on mostly highway miles.
Lots of reviewers complained about the touch interface controls. While they do get a little smudged from finger prints, a lint free cloth and some auto wipes make a simple, easy clean up.
So far so good.
