Loose Whiteline Swaybar End Links

Hi all,

I've had an issue since my Whiteline Swaybars were intalled, where the front end links will rattle when going over any kind of bump or undulation in the road.

I'm aware that after first install they can need to be re-tightened, but this has happened 4 times now and it keeps coming loose; say within an hour or two of driving. It doesn't hapen to the rears.

Anyone had any similar experiences or could suggest a permanent fix (other than the obvious 'remove the sways')?

Thanks!

I had the same issue, use some blue Loctite on the threads and torque them to spec.

Get new lock nuts and retorque. You can also try double nutting them, there is plenty of thread there.

Thanks guys, will give it a go!

Update: Loctite was already being used, but turns out there is a very slight worn bit on the thread. Have sourced some self-locking 12x1.25mm nuts to try the double-nutting.

Fingers crossed should be all sorted tomorrow.
If not I'd need to get a replacement end link I would imagine?

My WRX does this with a 24mm bar. Loctite didn't cut it, so I ended up using a second nut on the endlinks front and rear. Probably not the best engineering solution, but it works.

Sorry for the delayed update - lockdown has made actually going for a drive and testing it difficult.

Got the extra nuts, put them on, helped the problem a fair bit (like, 80-90%), but not entirely. There was still some weird clunking. Ended up discovering the adjustable height nuts were loose too. Tighetned those all the way up and now finally the problem is fully fixed!

Car feels 100x better now, for the first time since the sways were installed by some dodgy mechanics I will never be going back to!

Cheers for the tips guys
