In need of electrical wisdom.
 

Hey guys! I have a 2016 scion FRS, I recently purchased some Vland headlights for it. I figured out the main bulb and turn signals. However, I was on my path to figure out the DRL’s but I tapped something it made a click and now I don’t have headlights nor taillights. The dash stays lit with the high beam “logo” when the car is completely shut off and locked with everything off. I’m a little nervous because electrical isn’t my strong suit and it is my daily driver for now. Any input would be great.

Sounds like you blew a fuse.

That wouldn't cause the high beam light to be on while the key is off

The "click" might have been a fuse popping so I'd check those but only after you disconnect the headlights and sort your wiring issue.



The "GT" pic below should be FRS and the pic below that is the 86/BRZ.

Ooh, yeah I overlooked that detail. However, he still could have blown a fuse which could explain the click noise and no headlights/taillights. The brights icon staying illuminated on the instrument cluster with everything else off could possibly indicate electrical damage.

I have noticed that FRS’s are very electrically sensitive.. electrical damage seems next level. What would you think electrical damage means in this situation?

can't really know without knowing which wires were crossed, and what they connect to.

could be just a fuse, could be the entire wiring harness, could be the BCM. or could be all, or none of those things.

A couple of thoughts:

One might make that observation about any vehicle that is modified as frequently and extensively as the twins.

This may be the case in many situations (not only automotive) that leads to "electrical sensitivity".

High beam module?
 

Hey guys, my friend and I are still diagnosing electrical work. We are leaning towards a high beam module that leads into underneath the steering wheel. Has anyone ever heard of that? Or at least some sort of wire or device that controls when the high beams are activating.
