Lehigh Valley/Berks Run 9/23 7:15A

So i've done a couple of runs with the PA guys in delval. We typically go for a spirited drive on the backroads starting in the Lehigh Valley area ending in the Lehighton area. Then we grab some Lunch and enjoy blasting through the Lehigh tunnel afterwards.

Anyone interested in joining up for a drive on an early Sat/Sun AM?

Here's some prior runs I've organized with the delval s2k guys when I had my s2000.

http://www.s2ki.com/s2000/topic/7719..._spring+lv+run

Typically, I've started these runs around 8:45 with a 9:15 take off, but IMO, it's much more fun to start it a bit earlier, say around 7:30 meet with a 7:45 to 8:00 departure to beat any Sunday traffic. As Platz's doesn't open until noon, I'm thinking if there's enough interest, to change the route a little and ending up at Crackerbarrel for a brunch.

Sage Advice by an Old Timer

I noticed the last few days that there are some VERY NEW S2KI members attending.

I won't detract you from coming, but I personally, along with many others don't know much about you. So to you, and all the others, hear this loud and clear.

This is not a race, this is not a rally. This is a drive through some great roads in the area. YOU, and YOU alone are responsible for yourself and your car, plus EVERYONE'S safety. Bullshit, crap and antics won't be tolerated, the stakes are too high. Don't tailgate, leave enough room to properly deal with anything that may happen in front of you. It is as simple as that.

We've been fortunate that DV hasn't had many mishaps over the years, but each time we do this, the group in general gets younger and more inexperienced than the year before. The drive is about enjoying the car and company, not about how fast you go or who you pass.

Drive to PA. There are fun roads in NJ close by, but they seem to be too congested to enjoy in any capacity.

Sounds interesting. It's a bit of a drive for me though

I might be down with this, Sunday I am Auto-xing in Philly.

Most of the delval s2000 guys lived in philly & south jersey, so they caravan'd up to the LV, then did the drive. The problem with the drives towards Philly, New Hope, etc are that they are too congested, even at 7-8a, and a 6AM drive would be too hardcore early.

Every Sunday? Still gotta figure out dates.

As far drives go, a twilight drive going around 6:45PM also works well.

Yes, It's just the traffic I'm worried about.

I should be good to go. As long it's on the weekend.

feyrerm 08-17-2012 05:01 PM

I would love to, but i will have to pass on this one. I leave for Maine next week and have too much crap to get done this weekend before I go.
