Front license plate moulding?

Does anyone know if all 2022 BRZs will come with this moulding for the front license plate? I never run front plates on my cars and I'd hate to look at this every day!

I believe so.

Every picture I've seen online shows the BRZ with that. Probably due to how the grill is designed. Those fins seem to stick out a bit, so they can't have the plate attach to the grill like on the GR86.

I thought you were settled on the GR86?

I think I still am. But I'm still finding myself eyeing the BRZ. Something about the lines on the front end really do it for me. The GR86 is sort of just a gaping hole, for better or worse.

I keep getting videos on the BRZ and I'm really growing to like it. But I want to see more accessories for the GR86 before I make a final conclusion.

That part is one of the reasons I didn't like this BRZ front, its as if they realized front plates needed to be put on and this was added to the design at the last minute, thus any front plate you add to this BRZ will totally interfere with how the front lines will look. This was the mistake FRS designers made, where they mounted the bracket interfered with the front looks. I managed to put it where it didn't and I think it looks a lot better. Both FRS and 86 look far better without a front plate.

GR86 design didn't make this mistake. The plate will not interfere with the GR86's looks this time as it will sit inside the big grille, almost as if they took a cue from what a lot of us did with the front plate.

Totally agree. This detail alone makes me far less likely to get one. I guess I’m that particular!

This is definitely one of the main reasons I'm leaning towards a GR86 instead

Yes, the pre-production cars have that molded in spot.

Could be worse...

Yup, that's the stock front bumper on the later FDs that never came to the U.S.

Hard to believe anyone would be allowed to festoon that onto such a gorgeous car and *otherwise* gorgeous nose! Look at it, it cannot stand its own existence...

Well, crap. I hadn't noticed it before, but now that I see it, I can't unsee it. Since I live in a state where a front plate isn't required, that would drive me nuts.

I'd have to put a "Tag Intentionally Left Blank" or some such on it because it would look better with the tag than without.
