2013 AUTO BRZ

Hello,

my BRZ wont shift with the shifter in manual mode. The paddle shifters work but not the shifter.

Anybody else have this issue? resolved?

thanks.

Pretty sure this is normal....manual mode means you have to shift, using the paddles....car won't shift for you.

I suspect he means bumping the shifter forward or back (+/-). I have no input; I drive a manual.

I would check to see if the pig tails for the shifter that connect to the wiring harness got disconnected sumhow from under the shifter .
Not sure if there is a fuse for the shifter that controls this but you can check Aswell .
The shift Nob does allow the car to be shifted when in manual mode Aswell as with the paddle shifters .......

This is a good start. Should shift with shifter.

Hello, I don't quite understand your problem. It may be related to a faulty transmission lockout switch. Typically, to prevent accidental shifting without the driver present, modern automatic transmission cars lock the shift knob in Park until the driver presses the brake pedal and starts the engine. In some cases, the shift lockout switch may get stuck and not disengage properly. On almost all modern automatic transmission cars, you will find a shift lock or unlock switch located somewhere near the gear shift lever. Your car is a 2013, this is off topic, but I always avoid cars of this year, as I have had several and always had problems with malfunctions. In any case, you can enter into a contract with a company that provides a warranty on repairs and maintenance.
