Will the short shifter be available at launch?
 

I'm looking at putting in an order for a 2022 but I'm finding it difficult to know what can options/accessories can be purchased given that neither Toyota or Subaru have their configurators up yet.

I'm especially interested in getting the short shifter installed before taking delivery. Has anyone been able to order it, or will it only be available later in the release cycle?

The dealer can pull up the page for you with all the options.

May want to check over at the BRZ forum. Some of them have already ordered.

I think once they announce the price Toyota will definitely make a video or something that will highlight the available accessories for the 86.

It only takes a couple of hours to DIY install a short shifter in our cars though.

Yeah, that's true. Mostly just wondering if it's for sale alongside the car at all.

As a related question, is it possible to get the 86 Premium without the ducktail? I'm not a big fan to be totally honest.

That makes me nervous it's the shitty TRD 'quickshifter' kit just rebranded as GR. Or if it will be like Subaru's offerings and be a full assembly.

I keep seeing this thread, and thinking it says "will the short shifter be available at lunch?"
It makes me hungry!
