Infotainment differences?

Base BRZ shown in some japanese vídeos are different from limited

There will be infotainment differences between regions, let alone the brands. You will not be able to use Japan spec for North American or European infotainment. For North American infotainment you'll have to wait for the American reviews of this car to see if they put a different unit in a different trim(unlikely is my guess). All they seemed to promise is 8.0 inch screen.
Just look at the press photo of a North American GR86 and a Japan one, the Japan one had no volume or tuning knobs and appears to be a larger screen while the North American one does. |
Infotainment differences?
All the Japanese cars have had aftermarket radios in it. The base models usually have a 2DIN Alpine unit with a ~6” screen, and the high trim models have a larger ~9” unit from what appears to be Pioneer’s Carrozzeria line.
The models shown for NA market had a very ‘Subaru starlink’ looking headunit with a ~8” screen and physical volume/seeking knobs. I doubt there will be a difference between trims besides the rear speakers. |

Does no harmonize with the interior. Seems like one more win to GR.

That’s a bold take when we haven’t seen the Toyota headunit yet, could be exactly the same, with a different software skin. Like on the Supra. |

I doubt that will be worse than Subaru’s. So far, balancing everything, I am with BRZ, but aesthetically the GR is looking better. |

As I said before, all Japanese cars have had aftermarket units. That’s won’t be the case in NA, as that would be a huge turnoff for the average NA customer. It will be a more OEM unit. Considering the trouble Toyota has had integrating their last headunit properly into Subaru’s amp, I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s the same Subaru unit with a different software skin, especially considering Toyota has been much more hands-off on this car than the 1st Gen. |

Which is not what happens during vehicle development. I used harmonize instead of ugly as ^%#}, but I am sure you got it. |

Pretty much. Dealers install them IIRC. They have a few recommended ones but any standard unit goes. |
i wish they gave us that option in the states on all vehicles...

US GR and BRZ press release photos show the same touchscreen. The 8" unit is standard, regardless of trim. Not sure about outside regions.

It would be easy for Toyota is replace the frontend interface, but they could also just go with Starlink for simplicity. |
Not sure what market those cars are actually for. The GR units are all metric, not sure on the BRZ. The GR also has folding mirrors, and I'm not sure that's actually going to be offered in the USDM.
