Fixing loose shifter
I have a loose shifter, which has been loose ever since I took my car to a shop for a clutch install 5 years ago. I have not figured out how to fix it, and have been checking previous pages on these forums to figure it out but we never got it. I don't really get under the car very often, so looking to see if somebody else has worked on this problem.

You'll have to get underneath the car to find the missing or worn nylon bushing. That's all it is.

here's a diagram
https://www.subarupartwholesale.com/...10-350-01.html could be a problem where the pivot pins go thru bushings. Maybe one of the cotter pins is missing and the pin is backing out, allowed bushing to wear badly. Possibly loose bolts or bushing at the rear where the shifter support frame mounts to the floor pan. Could be a number of things. I think if you get the under tray removed and have someone wiggling the level while you watch those points it will be obvious. |
