FRS won’t start, already tried new battery.
(See below Video)
Automatic 2015 FRS engine won’t start at all. I tried a brand new battery and it did not resolve the issue. When turning the key entirely, there’s no noise and no clicking. The dashboard lights up, the radio/stereo system does not come on. The key still locks/unlocks, though none of the power window or power lock buttons inside the car work. Will check starter later today, though While initially trouble shooting, we actually managed to get the car to start after fiddling around with locking and unlocking the car via the key. Possibly something with the immobilizer? Either way after getting it to start that one time, we could not get it to come back on again. Let me know if you guys have any ideas. https://storage.cloudconvert.com/tas...pe=video%2Fmp4 |
Starter, Start relay, Neutral/Park switch. Do you have a VOM and know basic electrical?

If it matters, I can’t put put the car into neutral or anything either. The security light stops flashing when key is inserted, so I guess its not the immobilizer? |

Aaaaaaand. Still dead 💀 Probably just going to have it towed at this point. How’s that work if I can’t change the car into neutral and it’s at the top of a parking garage lol |

Try disconnecting the negative terminal from the battery and leaving it off for at least 30 minutes to allow the static voltage to discharge from the car's electronics, then reconnect the battery negative terminal to the post. This will reset your ECU, possibly allowing you to start the car. What gets me is that your radio does not come on. Sounds like you may have a couple of blown fuses. You need to find out what the battery voltage is with nothing on inside the car, then while attempting to crank, before you go any farther. |
